Monday Sunshine

“Happy are they who take life day by day, complain very little, and are thankful for the little things in life.”

My advice this week? Go hug a tree. Seriously, it’s not just for hippies!  People laugh at the idea but trees have such a loving, peaceful energy and being close to them (and especially touching them) can help to improve your health and mood.  There are scientists who think the vibration of plants and trees interact with the vibrations in our bodies in a positive and beneficial way.

So, seriously, hug a tree and find our for yourself!

  1. You hug that tree good! That is step one of my post! Sometimes you just have to hug a tree. Show some gratitude. Give it a pat.

    A friend of mine took a children’s organization group on a nature walk and they walked by a huge Ponderosa pine. One of the kids said, “I think the tree has a fever.” My friend responded, “Why do you think that?” The kid showed her that someone had pounded iron stakes into it to be able to climb the tree. It was sad for the tree, but also quite a response from a young child.

    1. Absolutely! What a lovely, attuned kid 🙂 There is definitely a kind of bliss that I feel when hugging a tree. I wish more people did it. Even I feel self-conscious about it at times, but it’d be amazing if it became the norm. I’m going to Big Sur in a couple of months and I’ll be hugging those redwoods for sure! xx
